Screen Printing
Screen printing is the process of pressing ink through a stencilled mesh screen to create a printed design. … The process is sometimes called serigraphy or silk screen printing, but all of these names refer to the same basic method. Screenprinting is available with the following specifications:
Can print up to 85lpi.
Glitter, frosting, tint.
Any amount of colour can be used.
Colours tend to be glossy (inside and out).
For food contact packaging, print must be on the outside.
Materials: PVC, PET, PP (200 – 400 micron).
Litho Printing
Lithography/Lithographic and offset printing, or litho printing for short, is where the image of the content you want to produce is placed on a plate which is then covered in ink and used for printing. This process can be used to print on paper, cardboard and many other materials. Litho printing is available with the following specifications:
Can print up to 100 dpi, Minimum dot factor, 5% dot screening, solids at 90% (effects high light and solids) i.e. Tends to make the image look muddy
Vignette (fade out) stops in a hard line at 5% minimum dot, but is not that noticeable on the transparent substrate i.e. no white and black.Any amount of colour can be used.
Minimum run 3000 sheets.
For food contact packaging, print must be on the outside.
Outside print = matte, Inside print = glossy.
Materials: PVC, PET, PP, Foil board, Carton board (100 – 800 micron).
Gold & Silver Foiling
Spice up your product packaging with hints of silver metallic or gold print. These prints can be done along with most pantone colours and can be offered in Matt or Metallic.
Materials: PVC, PET, PP, Board.
